Below is a video made to support anyone new to the use of Read&Write for Google or Google Voice Typing. This video show how assistive technology can be used with students using Google Chrome. If you have any questions on how to use any of the ttools with your students please contact me.
After the creation of the video,Google Voice Typing was updated to support commands.
When you are speaking text in a document, there are several phrases you can use to add punctuation to your text:
"Period"
"Comma"
"Exclamation point"
"Question mark"
"New line"
"New paragraph"
Note: At the moment, this punctuation is only supported in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Russian.

I just wanted
to send out a quick update on some digital happenings out there. My webpage
and especially my Blog (http://www.sesdweb.net/Page/5371)
are spaces that contain information about digital tools, sites or helpful tips
for teachers. I am always looking for interesting
things to blog about or tutorials to create so, if you have any tools or
classroom experiences that you want to share or learn more about, send them my
way. I know that many of you started
using twitter after our edcamp session, that is a great resource for finding
new things to do in your classroom.
Please check out some of the upcoming events in February (Safer Internet
Day and Digital Learning Day) or learn on your own with the Google Gooru.
I am here and
available to support individuals or groups of teachers with any of your digital

The theme for this year’s Safer Internet Day celebration is
“Play your part for a better Internet.” The day offers all of us the opportunity
to do that – not just by increasing the number of people who use the Internet
and connected technologies safely and responsibly but also by growing the
amount of good there is online and using the Internet to increase its
visibility and impact. We’re talking about expressions of kindness and positive
social action, big or small, by people of all ages.
All across the country, schools are undergoing a transformation
in teaching and learning with the help of digital technology. As educators
re-imagine school in new and different ways, Digital Learning Day provides an
opportunity to collaborate with peers, share ideas, try new digital tools, and
celebrate education innovation. Most importantly, it encourages everyone to
play a role in the transformation of their own schools and communities.
From virtual student debates to a digital project showcase,
local Digital Learning Day events are as diverse and unique as the students
that participate. The possibilities are endless. Thousands of classrooms in
addition to community centers, school districts and even states get involved in
the day by hosting events and activities that highlight or encourage new ways
of using technology for learning.

Every day is Google Gooru video day
The Gooru sends
out daily emails with short 1-3 minute videos explaining new or better ways use
google tools. I store the emails in a
folder and when I have a few minutes I click on what looks interesting to
me. I spend as much or as little time as

Information:
The
EdCamp sessions will be 45-minutes in length, and
completely unstructured (or not). This day – and these sessions – will be
focused on YOU, YOUR needs, topics YOU wish to discuss, information and/or
strategies YOU wish to learn. Plan to bring a device. Be prepared
to post to #sesdinquiry and/or #sesdEdCamp. Casual attire is recommended
and encouraged.
The
sessions will be informal. For example, you could facilitate discussion
around an essential question of practice and allow the participants to take it
from there. Do you have a burning question? Is there a topic you
would like to see discussed? If so, email me today.
